Guided by the concept that “the whole is better than the sum of its parts,” the Joint Venture Partnership, Aecon-Six Nations (A6N) provides comprehensive expertise, knowledge and resources for a wide range of utilities-related projects.

In 2015, Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (SNGRDC) and Aecon Group Inc.  formed a joint venture agreement to perform a broad range of utility-related work (gas, fibre, forestry, hydro). In three short years, the partnership has evolved into an industry-leading example of corporate Canada and First Nations partnership.

Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (51% equity owner in A6N) and Aecon Group Inc. (49% equity owner in A6N), a Canadian leader in construction and infrastructure development and one of the most respected companies in the industry. Together A6N is uniquely aligned to meet diverse utilities needs across Central and Southern Ontario, as well as in areas of historical importance to Six Nations.

A6N is uniquely aligned to meet diverse utilities needs across Central and Southwestern Ontario, as well as in areas of historical importance to Six Nations.

As of March 2019, A6N employs 80+ workers with a 90 per cent First Nations employment rating. The remaining work force is made up of experienced Aecon personnel such as lead hands and foremen.
